Having a "Ball"

Saturday my boyfriend, still getting use to saying that:-), took me to an Army Ball. It was really, really fun. I got all dressed up pretty and he was all dressed up in his uniform, looking quite dashing. He came and picked me up and we met another couple at the cheesecake factory, it was only an 85 min. wait to get in, no biggie! Haha so we decided to waste some time meandering through the mall. It was pretty fun all the looks we were getting, and a few people even commented on how great we looked. We got back to the restaurant and got seated. Their menus there are like 12 pages long!!! holy cow, how in the world is an indecisive person like myself ever going to be able to decide on what to eat! Well another 15 or so minutes later and I finally decided to have this amazing delicious lemon chicken thing with potatoes and asparagus. We decided to share a slice of cheesecake and he surprised me and ended up ordering two pieces so we could try more flavors! They were both delicious, I mean can you ever go wrong with chocolate mousse or lemon raspberry cheesecake, I think not! I was very, very spoiled :-) 

We made it to the ball and spent the night dancing, socializing, laughing, and just having a great time. It was really cool to see everyone all dressed up in their fancy uniforms and all the women in their fancy dresses! I had such a good time even just talking and meeting people. I'm not very good at just going up and introducing myself to strangers, but once I'm introduced I do pretty well at talking with new people. It reminded of the times I spent as a girl helping my mom with her big work conventions where people were all dressed up fancy and talking with new people and feeling important and being in the middle of all the excitement, it really made me think of those times and how much I enjoyed it even when I was a young girl. Plus my boyfriend, being the amazing gentleman that he is, always introduced me to everyone we talked to, and made me feel like a princess. Sigh, it really was a great time and I did feel like a princess, with my beautiful black and white dress, sparkly shoes, little sparkly flowers in my hair and a princely looking man who made me feel great. The whole night was just fantastic!
